Our core service model is to provide consultants on an hourly rate. Typically we prefer to take on longer projects that provide a high and stable allocation. We believe this is the way to also maximize the value a customer gains from our joint collaboration, especially in data ventures. They tend to be more than a few month lasting project, as usually there is a long running effort of growing the overall data capabilities of the customer organization as a whole.

Data platform development

Duuti does data. What do we mean when we say that we offer a full scale of data platform services? In short it means that we are able to help with any and all parts of data platform development, from defining requirements to implementing the platform and data pipelines to business logic implementations to building visualizations.

Regardless of the technology stack you are working with, we always bring to the table knowledge and understanding of the principles and general practices used for building data platforms, be it in Azure, AWS, GCP or on-premises. Data platform development is always a collaboration between the technology and business worlds. We provide first and foremost mastery of the technological side, coupled with as much industry specific business knowledge as possible. You as the customer fill the gaps in our business knowledge by being a part of the team and collaborating in the development process, resulting in the data platform team having mastery of both worlds.

Typically the data platform development contracts are longer, with allocations being between 80% to 100% full time equivalent. For some roles a smaller allocation may also suffice.

Data modelling

When data solutions are designed based on business data models, they stand strong through the face of time and are more likely to succeed in providing value to the organization.

In our long term commitments we always suggest building data solutions that are based on business data models. We also offer the possibility for others to experience this wonder. This means that we can help you with data modelling, starting from conceptual models and continuing to logical ones. We can also take on a longer commitment of helping with the development and implementation of the physical data model and the underlying data platform.

We follow proven practices for creating data models, taking example from some of the global leaders in this area. When you choose us to do data modelling, we do it together with your people, who possess the needed business knowledge, and the modelling is always done based on the business concepts.

Data architecture design

Are you just getting started, or rebuilding your data architecture? Need help with getting the things that matter most to your solution right from the get-go? We are happy to help. We go a bit deeper than just putting the big blocks after each other, similar to how you wouldn’t expect a construction architect to just draw what a building looks like on the outside.

You can easily get best practice architecture pictures for major platform vendors from the internet, they are usually just missing all the important pieces of information. Which one fits you the best? Do you need all the blocks, or maybe some more? How to actually implement the solutions within those blocks? What kind of practices should be established and followed, and in which cases can these be deviated from? There are a lot of case specific questions that go beyond the high level picture, and we can assist you with them to ensure your data architecture matches your current and future needs.

Quick on-demand consulting

Need a quick helping hand on any data related business? We might be able to help. We occasionally also do shorter on-demand gigs that can be just a phone call or a meeting, or maybe even a couple of days helping on an issue you are facing.

Sometimes we might also have time for low-allocation requiring work, if our people are in longer commitments with below 100% allocations. Don’t hesitate to ask for whatever it is your are looking for!

Independent reviews

We can come and take a look at how you are doing in your data endeavors. We’ll dig through your solution in collaboration with your data experts and provide tips and best practice ideas specific to your case. Reviews range from quick collaborations to confirm that you are on the right path to a wider review of the whole solution with review reports and presentations included.

Training

We do not provide a catalog of courses that you could take. Instead we like to provide ad-hoc training, usually within the consulting gigs we have. Here is an example of what that could be in practice:

Say one of our people has been working as part of your multi vendor data team for a long time, and has familiarized themselves with your data platform fully. You are planning on hiring in-house data experts, and would like to have an on-boarding training for them. We can tailor training sessions specific to your platform to get your new hires and future hires up to date fast. They will get to know your platform and data, not a generic solution.

We can also arrange tool specific training for your business users. For an example training your users with your data and data models to use a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik. At the same time as they learn the tool, they get to learn the data model they will later be using, and also start to familiarize themselves with the practices and ways of working you have defined. Not only do they learn the tool and it’s quirks, they are also more ready to start using it the way it is meant to be used within your company.
